Hi. I’m Jackie.

As a trained journalist starting out in TV News, I learned to write for “the ratings."

(My writing has even gotten myself national media attention.)

It’s true. If it bleeds, it leads. But I learned there are others things that get the same kind of attention (like food).

The secret? Understanding enough about people, proven research, and psychology to know the exact words to use.

It also helps to know how to take a stand that gets a strong response from people, how to piggy-back on what’s trending, and how to find and tell the most interesting story.

I write messaging as sweet, spicy, and succulent as the marinated, slow-roasted pork and pineapple Al Pastor Taco.

… using methods and proven research as classic as the Carne Asada Taco.

I translate this knowledge into a stellar ability to connect with audiences, sustain attention, and generate response.

What kind of response?

How about doubling an email open rate for a packaged meal service, or over doubling the open rate for an insurance brokerage? How about a cost-per-click rate of $.63 for a social media ad in an industry where the average is $1.93?

Those are just some of my latest results.

Need someone who will get in your audience’s head, figure out what they really want, and share how your product provides that?

As a trained researcher and interviewer, there’s nothing I love more.

What about me personally?

I’m originally from Florida, however my family moved around, so I also grew up in Louisiana and Ohio. That means I’m made up of equal parts “Midwest nice” and “Southern sass,” and can bring both to my writing. … as well as some spice, since I’m half Latina. And when I’m not writing inside some independently-owned, hipster coffee shop here in Atlanta, I’m probably hiking with my rescue Poodle, Lily, or Swing/Lindyhop dancing because, I LOVE to dance (even while standing in the grocery store aisle). And yes, I do love tacos and the color purple.

No, I don’t always match my dog … but hey, there’s an idea!
